To answer this question we need to know about what is a hard disk made of which contains layers of a disk in which our data is stored and a small header that helps to read and write in the disk, The problem here is the disk need to rotate to perform read and write actions so, the speed of spin is limited to a certain speed of reading and writing action.
The case of an SSD (solid-state drive) is made up of NAND flash memory which has no moving parts in it and also can read and write so fast. but there are demerits too the NAND flash memory has limited life cycles after which you couldn't able to do read and write.
SPEEDTEST: HDD VS SSD?
To give you a clear idea of the read and write speed of the SSD and HDD. I used crystal mark software to test read and write speed
HDD VS SSD?
I know what you guys asking whether I need to buy an SSD OR an HDD. The answer depends on you. Let me explain if you are a very productive guy and do kinds of stuff like browsing, freelancing, photoshop editing, video editing you guys need a faster pace on work on otherwise it will get you creativity block. It's worth investing in a good SSD. To store your work or personal pieces of stuff. I recommend using an HDD that doesn't break your bank.
If you are not a productive type of guy and only need to store a lot of things and do some basic kinds of stuff. It's ok to use an HDD but in long run, your OS boot time will get longer when the HDD becomes old. At that time it is highly recommended to upgrade to an SSD gives you a pretty boost
